Dear Friends,

As we embark on a new year here at Texas State, it’s exciting to look ahead at the opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement in the months and years to come. Texas State has always been focused on the future, which is reflected in the “hopes and aspirations high” lyrics of our alma mater.

As you will read about in this issue of Hillviews, we leaned into our Hopes & Aspirations High vision to develop the 2025–2035 Campus Master Plan. The result is a thoughtful roadmap for our campuses that not only supports today’s Bobcats but also serves as a foundation as we grow to support future generations. Whether through bold new initiatives or careful preservation of our heritage, this plan ensures that TXST remains a place of innovation, discovery, and belonging.

One of my favorite aspects of the plan is its emphasis on the natural beauty that makes our campuses in San Marcos and Round Rock so special. From the iconic hills and beautiful vistas to the flowing San Marcos River, our unique environment has always been a cornerstone of the Bobcat experience. In honor of this heritage, the plan prioritizes enhancing green spaces to foster gathering, connection, and reflection.

Our Master Plan Executive and Steering committees worked for 18 months and engaged with thousands of stakeholders across our campuses and communities to develop the Master Plan. It’s a wonderful example of the Bobcat spirit of collaboration, and it represents what we can achieve when we work together—each and every one of us.

Sincerely,

Kelly Damphousse

President
